Megazoom

A lens from the megazoom class allows you to capture a much larger area. Megazooms offer focal lengths from wide angles down to the telephoto range and are thus the lens of choice for most situations. As a result of their high level of flexibility, compact size and low weight, these lenses are particularly suitable for daily use as an all-round lens, as well as for vacations, activities requiring little baggage or for families with children and all their gear in tow.

18-400mm Di II VC HLD Megazoom

620mm capability, compact size

Until now, shooting at ultra-telephoto ranges meant carrying large interchangeable lenses. Thanks to the all-in-one zoom technology developed by Tamron, you can travel with a single lens that’s 121.4mm long and weighs only 705g.*² Experience the thrill of shooting with compact equipment that makes it easy to capture ultra-telephoto images.

*² Length and weight are based on the Nikon-mount lens.

B28 compact size

Highly precise. Conveniently compact.

Tamron’s exclusive HLD (High/Low torque-modulated Drive) saves power while providing superior drive. It focuses accurately and quietly while adjusting the motor’s rotation from low to high speeds, enabling smooth autofocusing. HLD let us design a space-saving AF module, for a sleeker barrel and reduced overall lens size.

Check out my pictures using the Tamron 18-400 on a Nikon D7200 . You can decide for yourself if image quality is good enough for you . https://flic.kr/s/aHsm8rY3jJ

This is a fantastic all around lens that I use on my Nikon D3500. I was curious to see how sharp a photo would be at 400mm 1.4km away. When I saw the photo I was extremely impressed to the point of Wow. The price is great as well. I would recommend this lens to everyone including beginners who are just starting out.
