Always aiming to satisfy the photographers' needs for performance and ergonomics, the new Manfrotto ball heads provide different solutions for different needs, with payloads from 2kg up to 8kg.
All models have a completely new friction control which allows micro movements without opening/closing the head lock (except for the 492 head). The locking lever is repositionable to its most convenient turning position, making it quicker and easier to use.
The 492, 494 and 496 heads have a simple flat plate, and the 494RC2, 496RC2, 498RC2 and 498RC4 feature a quick release plate for fast camera attachment / detachment. The quick release models include a secondary safety pin that avoids accidental detachment of the camera from the head.
