ILFORD expands pro-level GALERIE Prestige and newly-defined Premium lines with introduction of archival quality photo papers
To complement its new professional and consumer product categories and the addition of new products to each, ILFORD aims to reignite the photographer’s connection to the lost art of print making.
Avon, CT & Marly, Switzerland – June 21, 2012 – ILFORD (http://www.ilford.com), a leading developer and manufacturer of professional quality media for both inkjet printing and color photographic processes, announced today that it is expanding on its recent rebranding efforts by adding an enthusiast-pointed ILFORD Premium (4½ star) product category to live alongside its recently announced professional-grade ILFORD Prestige (5 star) range. With new archival quality papers added to each category, ILFORD is expanding its lineup with some award-winning photo papers that will allow photographers to recreate the excitement of the darkroom experience.

Continuing in this tradition, ILFORD is introducing GALERIE Prestige Smooth Gloss 310 gsm and Smooth Pearl 310 gsm to its professional GALERIE Prestige (5 star) lineup, both of which were created to provide the look and feel of a traditional print but with the consumer accessibility that only inkjet photo media can offer. Recognized with a 2012 TIPA Award (Technical Image Press Association) as the Best Fine Art Inkjet Papers of the year, the new heavy-weight 310 gsm papers are fully compatible with all professional inkjet printers and are produced using the same technology that has earned ILFORD high print permanence ratings in independent industry tests. These new papers replace the company’s best-selling 290 gsm Pearl and Gloss papers and with their new robust, professional feel lend weight to any image printed on them.
Introducing GALERIE Premium (4 1/2star)
While ILFORD will continue to bring its top-of-the-line offerings directly to the professional photographer, the company also recognizes that enthusiasts and students alike, demand the same high-quality print results of their professional brethren. With its new and expanding ILFORD GALERIE Premium (4 1/2star) lineup, the company now has a dedicated product range specially targeted to this audience of passionate photographers. This new range includes several legacy offerings along with the newly introduced GALERIE Premium Gloss 270 gsm and Lustre 270 gsm. Both products are intended for photographers seeking superior inkjet media for home and studio printing projects and ensure accurate reproductive qualities, extended longevity and a robust surface for durable print and feel.
